Bearing Tolerance Grade

The tolerance grade of the bearing is determined mainly according to the rotation accuracy requirement of the shaft to the bearing.Generally, for example, flanged ball bearings with large tolerances can be used as PO bearings, but some precision bearings with strict requirements for rotating accuracy or high speed of rotation, such as high-precision, small bouncing machine tool spindle, are selected as higher than PO bearings.When a bearing with a high tolerance grade is used, the manufacturing tolerance of the shaft housing shall be appropriate to the bearing tolerance grade and shall have sufficient structural stiffness.The service life of the bearing is determined according to the total accumulative time that the equipment can be expected to work. The common unit is the number of working hours.Is the equipment working in eight-hour shifts or working days?Is it used continuously throughout the day?Does it start and stop frequently or work long term once it starts and stops?

Maintenance cost, probability life and scrap must also be considered. Is it more economical to replace the equipment after long-term use or to use the equipment regularly?When deciding the required life, of course, the reliability of the bearing is a major factor, reliability level is usually in the bearing industry standard of 90%, that is to say, with a lot of work in the same application situation of bearing, 90% of the bearing is reached when the selected bearing work life remained in good condition, if the failure rate is low, insist on the life of the need to modify.

Increase bearing reliability, make it higher than 90% reliability, can reduce the service life of standard bearing of failure rate by 10%.In other words, standard bearing life must be reduced if higher reliability is desired.

The design dynamic bearing capacity of bearing is a function of speed, actual bearing load and design life.The speed and actual load are given for a given application, so the dynamic load capacity is a function of the design life.To increase reliability to 96 per cent, you can increase the bearing's external dimensions to the same level as when working reliability is 90 per cent, which means you can increase its dynamic carrying capacity to a value higher than the 90 per cent required for reliability, which requires the selection of a larger bearing.
