Stand-Up Shaft Support PA

Stand-Up Shaft Support PA
ISUTAMI PA stand-up shaft support, also called PA linear shaft support block, is a kind of assembly in metric unit for end or intermittent support. It is the machine component that position the shafts where linear bearings slide. The linear shaft using the shaft mount is lightly loaded and does not require a slight shaft deflection. The shafts are typically installed in pairs, allowing a carriage or table with installed bearings or bushings to slide back and forth. The shafts must be aligned parallel to each other or the carriage will not operate smoothly.

Stand-Up Shaft Support PA Features

Unlike the shaft support rails, the PA stand-up shaft support do not permit longitudinal passage of open ball bushing bearings. Shaft support blocks enable clamping of shafts, eliminate the need for bolts to maintain shaft position. Shimming is suggested for high precision applications to eliminate the effect of variations in surface of base or manufacturing tolerances between supports.

PA stand-up shaft support is an aluminum one, has a weight range of 21-380g and is more resistant to corrosion than the steel SK shaft support of the same specification. There are flanges on both sides of the support bottom, and each has a screw hole with a diameter (S) ranging from 4.3 to 8.4 mm. The matching mounting screws are M4-M8 screws. The series of shaft blocks use side clamping to secure the linear shaft. The size of the locking screws is M4-M8.

The overall height (F) of the PA shaft support ranges from 35 to 86 mm, the width (W) ranges from 42 to 108 mm, the length (L) ranges from 12 to 32 mm, and the width error range is ±0.05 mm. The height error range is ±0.02mm. The diameter of the linear shaft matched with the PA shaft support is 12-40mm, which is smaller than SK series.

In general, the advantages of using PA shaft supports are as follows:
For easy installing and quick aligning
Precise design with reference edge
More affordable than in-house designs

For heavily loaded linear bearing units or long track lengths, ISUTAMI recommends the use of shaft supports to eliminate shaft bending. For these applications, continuous or at least partial support of the shaft is necessary.
