Applications and Characteristics of Pillow Block Bearings

There are many kinds of bearings, one of which is called pillow block bearings. When buying pillow block bearings, it is necessary to know the use and advantages of pillow block bearings. The advantages and uses of buying pillow block bearings will be introduced one by one below.

The pillow block bearing consists of two outer spherical ball bearings with seal on both sides and a cast (or stamped) bearing seat. The inner structure of the outer spherical bearing with seat is the same as that of the deep groove ball bearing, but the inner ring of the bearing is wider than that of the outer ring. The outer ring has a truncated spherical outer surface, which matches with the concave spherical surface of the bearing seat and can automatically adjust the center. Usually, there is a gap between the inner hole of the bearing and the shaft. The inner ring of the bearing is fixed on the shaft with the top wire, eccentric sleeve or fastening sleeve, and rotates with the shaft. Bearing with seat has compact structure, convenient loading and unloading, perfect sealing, and is suitable for simple support. It is often used in mining, metallurgy, agriculture, chemical industry, textile, printing and dyeing, conveying machinery, etc.

Bearings are classified according to the clamping way with the shaft. There are usually four kinds of bearings: with top wire, with eccentric sleeve, tapered hole with fixing sleeve, and locking sleeve. Bearing seats are classified according to material quality. There are usually two major categories: casting seat and stamping seat.

The pillow block bearings are designed with various sealing devices, and different sealing structures can be selected according to different working environments to ensure the reliability and long service life of bearings.
